If you are

training. Security guard training is given to individuals who wishes be
employed as a security guard. Although not all states require security guards
to have training, it is important that you know what to expect in case you
decide to have training.
Applicants must
be at least 18 years of age and must have valid identification cards to
present. A high school diploma or a GED is also needed to present upon
application. They must have a background check and must show that they are
mentally and physically capable of handling duties as a security officer.
Applicants must also be physically fit since security jobs mean that they have
to patrol certain premises or in some cases, run. Security guard training may
vary depending on the company that has hired you. They may give additional
training if they think it is needed by the applicant.
There are many
options for security guard training. It could be from basic school training to
crime prevention and weapons training. So make sure that you are ready to take
all of these in case the company you are applying for requires you to have
them. Applicants may be required to have 8 hours of training but additional
hours may also be added. Written exams and practical firearms tests will also
be given at the end of every course. Applicants are required to pass them in
order to be given the license they need.
After the
security guard training is completed, a license is issued. This is valid for at
least two years while in some states it could be good for four years. Security
guards must take a refresher course if they wish to continue their services in
the security industry.
